Yes, effective July 1, 2011, PTSB will no longer be accepting district letters in lieu of submitting the completed fingerprint cards and fee.
What if I was fingerprinted for a previous Wyoming Teacher License (Certificate) or Permit, but I let it expire? (Back to Top)
You will have to be re-fingerprinted. No exceptions. Unless you hold a current, valid Wyoming Educator License or Permit, or can show proof that you have current fingerprint records on file with a Wyoming School District, you must be re-fingerprinted. See previous question, above, regarding federal law on criminal history.
What if I have a current, valid Wyoming Substitute Teacher or Coaching Permit? (Back to Top)
Your fingerprint record will be on file at PTSB, and you will not need re-fingerprinting.
What if I was fingerprinted in another state? (Back to Top)
You will have to be re-fingerprinted in Wyoming. PTSB cannot accept out-of-state fingerprint records. This applies whether you were fingerprinted five years ago or five days ago. No exceptions.
However, you may have the fingerprinting done in your current state of residence, as long as they are done on Wyoming fingerprint cards. To request a Wyoming Fingerprint Package, please Contact Us.
