A Demonstration of Competency is an alternative route for adding an endorsement area to a Wyoming Educator License. It allows an applicant to utilize previously completed coursework from an institution of higher education toward obtaining a Wyoming endorsement. Complete requirements for a Demonstration of Competency are as follows.
- Completion of 27 semester hours of coursework in the applicable content area from a regionally or NCATE accredited institution of high education,
- Nine (9) of the 27 semester hours must have been completed within the past five years
- Only coursework with a grade of “C” or better will be accepted
- A maximum of three semester hours may be in pedagogy and must be at the grade level for which the applicant is already currently licensed
- The applicant must receive a passing score on a PTSB approved Praxis II exam in the appropriate content endorsement area
- An applicant may only use the Demonstration of Competency route to add an endorsement at the grade level for which the applicant is already currently licensed.

Application
If you would like to add additional endorsement areas to your Wyoming Educator License at the same time you are applying for initial, reinstatement, or renewal licensure, please complete “Section III” and the “Application Checklist” portions of the Add Endorsement application and submit it along with your Initial or Renewal Application.
If applying to add additional endorsement areas at any time other than when applying for initial or renewal licensure, please complete the ENTIRE “Add Endorsement” application packet.
Fees
The fee to add an endorsement to a Wyoming Educator License through a Demonstration of Competency is $100 per endorsement, regardless of when the endorsement is added.
